Base pay range

$155,000.00 / yr - $259,000.00 / yr

Role Description

We are seeking a Medical Director to join our dynamic team of Physicians, Underwriters and Actuaries. GRL provides reinsurance and related services in the following lines of business : Individual Life, Individual Disability, Group Life & AD&D, Group LTD, Medicare supplement and Critical Illness.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical case consultations / referrals with underwriting, to include life, disability, and critical illness.
• Conduct research to review and update underwriting manuals for life and disability.
• Provide education surrounding medical cases and standards to underwriting team.
• Prepare and deliver presentations / seminars to internal and external stakeholders.
• Remain up to date with advances in medicine and innovations in risk selection processes
• Perform medical underwriting-related research and special projects as needed.
• Contribute to insurance medicine associations (e.g., planning meetings, speaking, setting professional standards).
• Additional duties as assigned.
