Overview
Vermont SportsCar is seeking an IT Manager to oversee our infrastructure and serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related matters. This role combines hands-on technical management with strategic planning to ensure our systems support our high-performance manufacturing and motorsports operations. The IT Manager will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure while serving as the crucial link between our organization and external IT support.
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000 annually
Duties / Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management
- Manage, inventory, upgrade, and replace workstations across all departments
- Monitor the health and status of company servers, network attached storage (NAS) systems, and other critical infrastructure
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of all IT assets and configurations
- Implement and oversee backup and disaster recovery procedures
- Ensure network security and data protection protocols are current and effective
Technical Support & Operations
Serve as the first point of contact for all issues related to company devices and equipmentProvide timely resolution of technical problems or escalate as appropriateManage user accounts, permissions, and access controlsOversee software licensing, updates, and patch managementCoordinate hardware and software deployments for new employeesVendor & Partnership Management
Act as the primary liaison between Vermont SportsCar and external IT support companyAssist in managing service level agreements and ensure vendor accountabilityCoordinate with IT support company for complex issues and projectsEvaluate and recommend third-party solutions and servicesStrategic Planning & Development
Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and best practicesCreate and manage IT budget, including forecasting for upgrades and replacementsIdentify opportunities for improvements to enhance operational efficiencyLead IT-related projects from conception to implementationProvide regular reports on IT performance metrics and system healthRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)Minimum 5 years of experience in IT management or senior IT support roleStrong knowledge of Windows and / or Mac environments, server administration, and networkingExperience with network attached storage systems and backup solutions (Synology)Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staffPreferred Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing environmentsKnowledge of ERP systems and manufacturing softwareExperience with cybersecurity best practices and implementationFamiliarity with mobile device management (MDM) solutionsPersonal Attributes
