Open until filled The SOESD Electronic Services department is seeking candidates interested in entering the apprenticeshipin program on a career path to achieving an Electrical License as a Limited Energy Technician. Apprentices work alongside licensed co-workers to serve over 100 schools in Jackson, Josephine, in Klamath Counties on the installation of multi-media equipment, security access control, security cameras, wired and wireless networks, and more. Southern Oregon ESD has locations in the Rogue Valley, Grants Pass, and Klamath Falls.

Electronic Technician II
Position Goal : Perform, under minimal direction, the more difficult, skilled duties in the maintenance, repair, and installation of media equipment, and to do related work as required.
Essential Functions :
1. Perform skilled design, repair, and maintenance of media equipment.
2. Assist in the evaluation and selection of new media equipment, which includes involvement in writing specifications for equipment.
3. Maintenance and upkeep of department inventory and equipment.
4. Consult with school district personnel in relation to media equipment needs in new construction and remodeling.
5. Perform skilled design and installation of media equipment in school districts and media centers.
6. Receive work orders as assigned by the supervisor and complete, including pricing and billing information.
7. Attend workshops and in-service sessions as requested by the director.
8. Be aware of the activities and responsibilities of other departments in the Technology Center for referral purposes.
9. Implement guidelines in the service and maintenance of vehicles assigned to the department.
10. Assist in the training of other personnel within the department.
11. Perform job-related tasks as designated by the supervisor.
12. Knowledge of the operation of all equipment used in the department.
13. Maintain, design, install, and operate television distribution and insertion equipment.
14. Repair broken, torn videotape from the schools and the television department.
15. Install and maintain intercom equipment.
Minimum Prerequisites :
1. Follow oral and written directions.
2. Communicate effectively in both writing and speech.
3. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with persons contacted in the course of work.
4. Know procedures and equipment used in the repair, installation, and maintenance of all types of media equipment.
5. Knowledge of electronic theory, practice, and various testing procedures.
6. Ability to read blueprints and electronic schematics.
7. Possess a Limited Energy Certified Electronic Technician license.
8. Knowledge of rules, regulations, and policies of the Technology Center.
Location : In person based from the SOESD offices in Medford (101 North Grape Street) and Klamath Falls (2685 Foothills Blvd.)
Length of Position : 1.0 FTE / 258 days (annual year-round position)
Salary : $19.96 / hr to $27.37 / hr for the 2025-2026 school year.
Immediate Supervisor : Program Administrator
