ZDLRA Oversight Engineer (Remote)

Job Description

Role Summary

Provide independent engineering oversight and implementation assurance for an Oracle ZDLRA deployed in a cyber resilience clean room / IRE as a cascaded replication target. The HLD is complete; your focus is producing a ZDLRA-specific LLD and verifying that policies, retentions, replication, IAM, and break-glass controls are designed correctly and implemented as approved. The client will perform the actual configuration with you guiding and assisting with implementation guidance. The IRE ZDLRA will serve as the immutable data set recovery, testing and staging data in the IRE.

Core Responsibilities

• LLD (ZDLRA-Specific)
• Author the ZDLRA LLD aligned to the approved HLD (topology, catalogs, storage pools, protection policies, replication flows, purge / retention math, monitoring, logging).
• Define the cascaded replication workflow into the IRE and the controlled egress patterns for recovery / validation.
• Implementation Assurance (Guided Execution)
• Guide client engineers through key steps (RA initialization / baseline checks, DB registration mappings, policy / retention assignment, replication enablement, cert / PKI), confirming parameters match the LLD.
• Validate RMAN integration assumptions (channels / concurrency / QoS), catalog strategy, and throttling where applicable.
• Policy, Retention & Replication Governance
• Verify tiered protection policies and retention chains; confirm purge behavior and storage headroom.
• Confirm cascaded replication schedules, lag targets, integrity checks, and evidence of consistent, complete replicas in the IRE.
• Security, IAM & Break-Glass
• Review / enforce least-privilege RBAC, PAM / MFA, key / cert lifecycle, encryption in flight / at rest, and SIEM / syslog forwarding.
• Define, document, and test break-glass procedures
• Operational Readiness & Evidence
• Establish acceptance criteria; verify health checks, capacity alerts, and validation cadence (e.g., RMAN VALIDATE / block checks).
• Direct remote recovery exercises tested and documented.
• Change Control & Documentation
• Maintain review comments and risk log; align with ITSM (CRQs, incidents, approvals).
• Deliver as-built configs, runbooks, and drill evidence for audit / readiness reviews.

Expert RMAN & Recovery Catalog; MAA familiarity (RAC / Data Guard helpful). Proven delivery in IRE / clean-room or air-gapped patterns with audit-ready evidence. Security fundamentals : RBAC, PAM / MFA, PKI / certs, encryption, logging / SIEM, immutable retention. Strong documentation skills; effective remote guidance over screen share. Nice-to-Have Coordination of ZDLRA with Rubrik Firewall policy review in IREs (Palo Alto) and SD-WAN basics.
