Bridge Design and Rehabilitation Lead

Columbia, SC North Charleston, SC North Myrtle Beach, SC Kisinger Campo & Associates, Corp. (KCA) is seeking a Bridge Design and Rehabilitation Lead for one of our South Carolina offices, located in Columbia, North Myrtle Beach, and North Charleston. Responsibilities: Leading the South Carolina bridge design and rehabilitation practice Preparing design calculations, construction plans, and technical reports while coordinating with roadway, geotechnical, and hydraulic disciplines Designing and producing plans for transportation-related projects from preliminary to final design including specifications, quantities, cost estimates, and final bid packages, and coordinating with the design team to ensure project completion within defined schedule, budget, and quality Assist in reviewing shop drawings, performing field inspections, and resolving design issues during construction Work at this level requires the candidate to be a proactive, self-starter that is willing to work with a team of engineers on projects throughout the States of North Carolina and South Carolina This role requires a solid understanding of applicable AASHTO codes and structural analysis software, with increasing responsibility for project components and quality control Qualifications: Experience: Minimum 10 years of experiencerequired, 15 yearspreferred Minimum 5 years of experience working on SCDOT bridge projects isrequired Master’s degree in civil engineering with a structural focus ispreferred Skills: Competent knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, delivery methods, and the application to project work-related issues Knowledge of structural design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete for both superstructure and substructure components Knowledge of SCDOT design standards, SCDOT plans preparation procedures, and geometric control Knowledge of bridge rehabilitation and preservation principles Familiarity with practices and procedures for structural detailing Ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment Experience in using structural analysis and design software – Open Bridge Modeler experience is a plus Top Reasons Why You Want to Work for KCA KCA is a 50-year-old industry leader with 400+ employees in 12 design offices in 4 states Voted Best Places to Work and a Top Family Friendly Workplace Career development and advancement potential Great benefits package – medical, dental, life, disability, and 401(k) matching Terrific company culture that values well-being, rewards hard work and supports a balanced approach to life and work.
