Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Correctional Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS certification Must-Have: Experience working in a highly autonomous setting Experience in assessing patient conditions utilizing the nursing process Experience in managing acute and chronic diseases or terminal conditions Experience in monitoring and reporting observed reactions to treatments or medications Experience in administering medications adhering to safety standards Experience in completing medication refills per provider orders Experience in accurate transcription of provider orders Experience in assessing signs and symptoms and implementing care interventions Experience in treating conditions within the nursing practice scope Experience in completing point-of-care sample collections including phlebotomy Experience in administering vaccines and other medications Experience in leading emergency response for patients in distress Experience in delegating tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel Experience in accurate documentation of patient care in an electronic healthcare record Experience in providing patient education regarding medications and care Description: The role requires working in a highly autonomous setting. The RN will assess patient conditions using the nursing process. Management of acute and chronic diseases or terminal conditions is essential. Monitoring and reporting observed reactions to treatments or medications are required. The RN will adhere to medication administration processes ensuring patient safety. Completing medication refills per provider orders and established protocols is necessary. Accurate and timely transcription of provider orders is important. The RN will assess signs and symptoms of health concerns. Appropriate care interventions will be implemented based on assessment outcomes. Treating conditions within the scope of nursing practice is needed. Completing point-of-care sample collection, including phlebotomy, is part of the role. Administration of vaccines and other medications will be performed. Leading emergency response and interventions for patients in physiological distress is required. Delegating and overseeing tasks to both licensed and unlicensed personnel is essential. Accurate documentation of all patient care in electronic records is necessary. Patient education regarding medications and plan of care will be provided.
