Bookkeeper/Accountant
Position: Part-Time Accountant/Bookkeeper for FOCUS 50+ Hours: Approximately 1015 hours per week; flexible workdays Pay: Hourly, based on level of experience Location: On-site Reports To: Executive Director Position Summary: FOCUS 50+ is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and organized Accountant/Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining accurate and timely financial records. This position will work under the general direction of the Executive Director and will play an important role in maintaining the organization's financial records, supporting grant compliance, assisting with budgeting and reporting, and ensuring the organization's financial operations are handled accurately and efficiently. Essential Responsibilities Manage accounts payable, including processing invoices and maintaining accurate payment records. Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations. Assist with payroll and human resources-related financial support. Prepare and process monthly invoices. Record, track, and monitor grant-related financial transactions and expenditures. Prepare monthly financial reports at both the organizational and program levels. Assist with annual and program budgeting, expense tracking, and budget monitoring. Monitor cash flow, account balances, and financial activity. Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation. Prepare financial information and documentation needed for tax filings and year-end financial audits. Assist the Executive Director with other accounting and financial management duties as needed. Maintain confidentiality of financial, employee, donor, and organizational information. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of five years of relevant accounting/bookkeeping experience. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office 365 is required. Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while also working effectively with organizational staff. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion. Position Details This is a part-time, on-site position averaging approximately 1015 hours per week, with flexible workdays. The position is paid on an hourly basis and reports to the Executive Director.
