SUMMARY OF POSITION :

The Penn State Health Medical Group - Middletown office is located minutes outside of Hummelstown and sees, on average, 150-180 patients a day.

This office houses several specialties including Adult and Pediatrics Rheumatology, Neurology, GI, Dermatology, and Family Medicine.

Operating on a day-time schedule during the weekday, the selected Medical Assistant will have a mix of clinical and clerical duties to complete.

From a clinical perspective, the MA will be rooming patients, administering vaccines, handling phlebotomy, taking vitals, and assisting with in-house procedures.

The clerical duties are comprised of proposing medication refills and completing medication prior authorizations. Due to the variety of specialties housed at Middletown, the office is seeking a highly motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S) :

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90-days of employment date or current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S) :

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • Previous outpatient experience preferred.
