Job description

Position SummaryThe Low Voltage Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of low voltage systems on data center, federal, and secured government construction projects. This position will work with structured cabling, access control, CCTV, audio visual (AV), network infrastructure, and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) systems. The ideal candidate has experience working in mission-critical environments, understands federal construction requirements, and can maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and security.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesStructured Cabling & Data CentersInstall, terminate, test, and certify copper and fiber optic cabling systems.Install cable pathways including conduit, cable tray, basket tray, J-hooks, and raceways.Perform rack and stack activities, server cabinet installations, and equipment mounting.Label and document all cabling and equipment according to project specifications.Conduct cable testing and troubleshooting using appropriate testing equipment.Assist with commissioning and startup of mission-critical systems.Access Control & Security SystemsInstall and configure access control systems including card readers, biometric devices, door position switches, request-to-exit devices, and electrified door hardware.Install and support CCTV surveillance systems and associated network infrastructure.Troubleshoot security system components and connectivity issues.Maintain compliance with federal security requirements and project standards.Audio Visual (AV) SystemsInstall and terminate AV cabling including HDMI, CAT6, fiber optic, and control wiring.Install displays, projectors, video walls, conferencing systems, microphones, and speakers.Assist with testing and commissioning of AV systems.Support troubleshooting and integration activities.SCIF Construction & Secure SpacesAssist in the installation and construction of SCIF environments.Support implementation of ICD 705 and federal security requirements.Install alarm systems, secure communications infrastructure, and specialized security devices.Maintain strict handling of controlled and sensitive information.Coordinate with government representatives and security personnel when required.General ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, wiring diagrams, and specificationsplete daily reports, quality control documentation, and installation records.Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, quality control personnel, and other trades.Maintain tools, equipment, and company assets.Travel to project locations as required.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.Minimum 2 years of low voltage installation experience.Experience with structured cabling, access control, CCTV, or AV systems.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Preferred QualificationsExperience working on federal construction projects.Data center construction experience.Knowledge of SCIF construction requirements and secure facility standards.Experience with fiber optic installation and testing.Manufacturer certifications (Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone, CommScope, Corning, Panduit, Crestron, Extron, etc.).OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.BICSI certification.Low voltage or electrical apprenticeship training.Security Clearance RequirementsAbility to successfully pass background investigations.Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance, if required.Must be eligible to access military installations and federal facilities.U.S. citizenship may be required for certain projects.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.Ability to work on ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and elevated platforms.Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and work in confined spaces.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to work in active construction and data center environmentspensation & BenefitsCompetitive wage based on experience and qualifications.Medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with company match.Paid time off and paid holidays.Travel per diem and lodging when applicable.Training and certification opportunities.Equal Opportunity EmployerTribal One Construction is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
