The Position:
Programmer Analyst
Job Summary:
The Programmer Analyst reports to the Executive Director of Enterprise Systems and provides day-to-day operational and development support for the College's enterprise applications, scheduled processes, and reporting. Responsibilities include monitoring processes, responding to failures, developing and maintaining assigned applications, and providing coverage for back-office integration work.
This position receives day-to-day work direction and technical guidance from the Senior Applications Analyst.
Schedule & Benefits: This is a full-time, year-round position with an anticipated schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. CHARACTERISTIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational support
- Monitor assigned scheduled processes and integration jobs, diagnose failures, and resolve or escalate issues promptly.
- Respond to reported problems with enterprise applications and data processes, working with functional departments to confirm resolution.
- Provide backup coverage for back-office integration and application support to ensure continuity during staff absences.
Development
- Develop and maintain assigned in-house applications, data processes, and automation scripts.
- Implement changes to existing applications and processes in response to departmental requests and changing business requirements.
Reporting and data
- Build and maintain reports, data extracts, and queries supporting departmental needs.
- Support the migration of legacy reporting into Workday reporting and other current platforms.
Documentation and departmental support
- Maintain current runbooks and technical documentation for all assigned processes and applications.
- Respond to functional department requests for data, reports, and application changes, escalating as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS
While no one person may possess all the qualifications listed below, the ideal candidate will have many of the following professional experiences and characteristics:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least one year of relevant experience in application development or data process support, which may include internships or hands-on academic project work.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Experience with at least one programming or scripting language.
- Ability to work methodically with scheduled processes and data integrations, and to follow documented procedures accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in determining when to escalate issues.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

- Satisfactory completion of required background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Exposure to Workday or comparable enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, including reporting or system integration work.
- Familiarity with FERPA and higher education data privacy requirements.
