Payroll Director

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Payroll Director to lead our payroll operations with precision and strategic insight. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws. Your leadership will drive efficiency across payroll systems, enhance data accuracy, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality. Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in payroll management within a corporate accounting environment with extensive knowledge of payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft or Ceridian.
  • Healthcare experience
  • Strong understanding of employment law, labor law compliance, payroll tax regulations, and governmental accounting standards.
  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting software including spreadsheets (Excel), financial software, and specialized payroll systems supporting technical functions.
  • Solid background in accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits.
  • Experience handling confidential information securely while managing large-scale payroll processing and analysis tasks.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and produce actionable insights.
  • Ability to lead a team effectively while collaborating across departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation across multiple pay cycles.
  • Oversee the administration of payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and other supported platforms to optimize performance.
  • Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, payroll tax regulations, and governmental reporting requirements by staying current on legal updates.
  • Collaborate with HRIS teams to integrate payroll data with human resources information systems (HRIS) and time & attendance systems for seamless operations.
  • Conduct detailed account reconciliations, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger reviews to maintain financial integrity.
  • Manage payroll tax filings, governmental reporting, and audit preparations with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Handle confidential information with integrity while supporting payroll processing, data entry accuracy, and analysis of payroll data for reporting purposes.
