Position Overview

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) at Raven Mental and Counseling Center, you will play a pivotal role in delivering therapeutic services to individuals and families facing complex relational challenges. This full-time remote position allows you to utilize your expertise to deliver impactful therapy across various modalities, with a particular focus on divorce and relationship counseling. Our ideal candidate is not only certified in multiple therapeutic practices, but is also committed to enhancing the mental well-being of their clients through empathy and tailored approaches.

About the Organization

Raven Mental and Counseling Center is dedicated to providing compassionate, accessible mental health services to the diverse communities of San Francisco. Our clinic operates with a clear mission: to foster healthier relationships and emotional wellness within families. We combine evidence-based therapeutic practices with a client-centered approach, ensuring that clients receive the personalized care they need. We pride ourselves on maintaining a supportive and collaborative environment for both our clients and our team of mental health professionals.

Work Environment

This role will be conducted in a fully remote setting, allowing for flexible work-life integration while maintaining high service delivery standards. As a part of our community health clinic, you will engage with clients primarily Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., taking advantage of our dynamic virtual communication platforms to establish meaningful therapeutic relationships. You will collaborate with other health professionals to ensure well-rounded care for all our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the severity and impact of mood disorders and relational conflicts in clients.
  • Collaboratively develop individualized treatment plans that are aligned with each client’s goals, preferences, and therapeutic needs.
  • Employ evidence-based methodologies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to facilitate therapeutic progress.
  • Provide education to clients and their families about mood disorders and treatment options, empowering them with self-care skills.
  • Monitor clients’ progress over time, adjusting treatment strategies as required to enhance efficacy and outcomes.
  • Engage in case consultations and team meetings to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and integrated care.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on research and advancements in mental health, incorporating new findings into treatment practices.
  • Ensure clients' confidentiality by keeping meticulous records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Advocate for mental health awareness, helping to destigmatize issues related to mood disorders and providing support to marginalized populations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our client demographic ranges from individuals grappling with stress, anxiety, and depression to families in distress due to relationship conflicts, including divorce. We focus on offering culturally sensitive therapy that acknowledges and respects the unique backgrounds and experiences of each client. Your expertise as a therapist will be crucial in helping clients navigate their healing journeys.

Qualifications

  • A valid Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) certification is required for this position.
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy is essential.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster a secure therapeutic environment.
  • Demonstrated empathy and a nonjudgmental approach to client interactions, enhancing the therapeutic relationship.
  • Solid organizational and time-management abilities to manage caseload effectively and ensure timely documentation.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in clinical settings, preferably with a focus on relationship and family therapy.
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic models and techniques, especially those addressing divorce and relationship restoration.
  • Prior experience in a community health clinic or similar environment is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary for this full-time position ranges from USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Generous paid time off to promote work-life balance.
  • A robust retirement plan to secure your financial future.
  • Health insurance coverage to address your wellness needs.
  • Opportunities for continuing education to enhance skills in addiction counseling and related fields.
  • A collaborative and supportive workplace culture that values professional development and personal growth.
