About Birch Therapy

At Birch Therapy, we believe growth and healing happen in a grounded, compassionate, and

supportive environment. Like the birch tree—a symbol of new beginnings, resilience, and

adaptability—our practice is dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's

challenges, build emotional strength, and foster meaningful connections. We prioritize

evidence-based care delivered with warmth, authenticity, and respect for every client's unique story.

Role Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and licensed Therapist (LCSW, LMFT, LCMHC, or

equivalent) to join our growing clinical team, as an independent contractor. In this role, you will

manage a caseload of clients, conducting comprehensive clinical assessments, developing tailored

treatment plans, and delivering high-quality psychotherapy. Whether working with adults,

adolescents, couples, or families, you will serve as a trusted partner in their mental health journey

while collaborating with a supportive team of like-minded professionals.

Key Responsibilities

? Clinical Care: Provide individual, group, or couples therapy utilizing evidence-based

modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, Psychodynamic, EMDR, or Gottman Method).

? Part Time: 10 clients, at least 2 shifts, 5 clients per shift.

? Full Time: 20 clients, at least 4 shifts, 5 clients per shift.

? Full Time without shared office: 25 clients, at least 5 shifts, 5 clients per shift.

? Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct initial intake assessments, formulate clinical diagnoses,

and develop measurable, client-centered treatment plans.

? Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation (intake

notes, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries) within our Electronic

Health Record (EHR) system.

? Crisis Management: Assess and manage client risk appropriately, utilizing risk-assessment

protocols and crisis intervention strategies when necessary.

? Collaborative Care: Consult and collaborate with external providers (physicians,

psychiatrists, school counselors) to ensure holistic client care.

? Professional Growth: Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing

professional development to refine clinical skills and stay aligned with best practices. We

require attendance to monthly team lunch and strategic planning day one day per

year.

Qualifications & Skills

? Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family

Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

? Licensure: Active, unencumbered license to practice independently in NC (e.g., LCSW,

LMFT, LPC, LPCC, PsyD, PhD). Provisionally licensed candidates (e.g., LMSW, Associate

Counselors) pursuing full licensure may be considered depending on clinical supervision availability.

? Experience: 2+ years of post-licensure clinical experience preferred at prior agency.

? Clinical Expertise: Proficiency in standard psychotherapy modalities and strong diagnostic

skills.

? Professionalism: High ethical standards, strong boundary management, and deep

commitment to cultural humility and inclusive care.

? Technical Skills: Comfortable using EHR platforms, secure telehealth software, and digital

communication tools.

What We Offer

? Competitive Compensation: Generous per-session fee split based on experience and

licensure. We have 4 tiers: 50% (interns), 60% (emerging), 65% (experienced), or 70%

(senior).

? Work-Life Integration: Flexible scheduling with control over your appointment calendar

and mix of telehealth/in-person sessions. We do require evening availability based on

client needs; a minimum of 2 nights per week 7pm or later, with 90% of your caseload

after 3pm.

? Administrative Support: Full billing and intake support so you can focus entirely on client

care.

? Supervision & Consultation: Regular peer consultation groups, mentorship, and clinical

support.

? Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance options can be purchased by clinicians

through the practice plan.

? Warm Culture: A collaborative, inclusive, and mission-driven team environment that values

clinician well-being.
