About Miso

MISO develops technology that elevates human lives in the commercial kitchen.

We’re engineering production-ready robotic systems that tightly integrate perception, real-time decision making, and electromechanical controls to automate the most dangerous, least desirable tasks in food preparation. That means building software that understands the physical world as it actually behaves, and hardware that can execute precisely in the face of chaos. Success is measured in uptime, throughput, and trust from our customers, not demos.

Our flagship platform, Flippy, is already operating in high-volume restaurant kitchens across seven states. Zippy, our Kitchen Intelligence software centralizes all operational data in our broader ecosystem, expanding the role of AI enabled autonomy in real-world operations. Backed by industry leaders, including Ecolab (NYSE: ECL), Miso combines the stability of a proven commercial product with the technical depth and ambition of a company passionately innovating to solve foundational problems in robotics and restaurant operations.

If you’re excited by hard constraints, real customers, and the challenge of making software and machines perform reliably where failure isn’t an option, you’ll find meaningful problems to work on here.

As a Software Engineer – Full Stack at Miso Robotics, you will develop and expand the customer-facing applications, data platforms, and cloud services that support our restaurant technology and robotics products. This role has a strong emphasis on building modern, intuitive React-based front-end applications and data-driven dashboards, while also contributing to the Python services, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure that power them.

You will work across the full stack—from React and TypeScript user experiences to backend data services and AWS infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with product, robotics, data, analytics, and other engineering teams to turn complex operational data into simple, actionable applications.

We expect engineers to make extensive use of modern AI-assisted software development, particularly Claude and GitHub Copilot, to accelerate implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, code review, and analysis. You should be comfortable using AI as part of your everyday engineering workflow while maintaining strong engineering and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop customer-facing applications using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript
  • Build responsive, intuitive dashboards and interfaces that transform complex restaurant and robotics data into clear operational insights
  • Develop reusable React components, visualization tools, and front-end frameworks
  • Build and maintain Python backend services, APIs, data services, and databases supporting web applications and analytics
  • Design data models and services that efficiently deliver operational and analytical data to front-end applications
  • Develop APIs connecting front-end applications with cloud services, robotics data, analytics systems, AI applications, and third-party platforms
  • Build and improve data pipelines that collect, transform, aggregate, and expose data for applications and analytics
  • AI-generated insights, reporting, and automated workflows
  • Integrate AI-powered capabilities such as conversational interfaces, recommendations, summaries, and operational insights into applications
  • Use Claude and GitHub Copilot extensively in day-to-day development for code generation, debugging, refactoring, testing, documentation, code review, and rapid prototyping
  • Create architectural and data-flow diagrams describing interactions between applications, backend services, data pipelines, AI systems, and robotics systems
  • Monitoring, logging, and observability capabilities for front-end and backend systems
  • Contribute to AWS deployment pipelines, application performance, scalability, and reliability

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including internships or equivalent project experience
  • Experience with Claude Code and other agentic software development tools
  • AI coding tools effectively for implementation, debugging, refactoring, automated testing, documentation, and learning unfamiliar code
  • Strong experience developing modern web applications using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript
  • Understanding of front-end architecture, reusable component design, state management, responsive interfaces, and API-driven applications
  • Python for backend services, APIs, REST, data processing, or automation
  • Understanding of SQL, relational databases, data modeling, and backend data services
  • Data pipelines, analytics systems, or operational datasets
  • Git, pull requests, code reviews, automated testing, and modern SW dev workflows
  • AWS services and cloud-native architectures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • React visualization and dashboard libraries
  • SaaS or enterprise web applications
  • Data engineering, ETL/ELT pipelines, analytics platforms, or data warehouses
  • Integrating LLMs or AI-powered capabilities into applications
  • Developing applications that interact with robotics, IoT, telemetry, or real-time systems

Compensation

$110,000–$125,000 per year + Benefits

The stated compensation range reflects the targeted base salary range for candidates residing in the Los Angeles Metro area and does not include additional compensation or benefits. If your salary requirements fall outside this range, we still encourage you to apply.
