We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Network Administrator to support and manage the core IT and network infrastructure for our cybersecurity R&D environment. The ideal candidate will maintain a secure, efficient, and reliable network, support internal systems, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices, particularly in support of government contracts and test environments.
This is a hands-on role supporting both production and lab networks essential for research, testing, and development activities.

Key Responsibilities
Network Maintenance : Administer, monitor, and maintain local and wide area networks (LAN / WAN), including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
Security Management : Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems (IDS / IPS), and access control policies.
System Administration : Support Windows and Linux servers, user workstations, and virtual machines; manage user accounts, backups, and patching.
Technical Support : Provide Tier I / II support to staff; troubleshoot network and connectivity issues; assist in setting up new devices and systems.
Documentation : Maintain accurate network and system documentation, configuration records, and diagrams; support asset inventory management.
Compliance Support : Ensure systems align with applicable cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST 800-171, DFARS, and CMMC; assist in audits and documentation.
R&D Collaboration : Support researchers, developers, and cyber operators by configuring and securing experimental and virtual lab environments.
Required Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Administration, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in network or system administration roles.
Proficiency in configuring and maintaining firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
Experience with both Windows Server and Linux-based systems.
Familiarity with basic scripting, automation, and remote administration tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a small team.
U.S. Citizenship (required for federal contract eligibility).
Preferred Qualifications
Security+ or Network+ certification (or other industry-recognized certs such as CCNA, CEH, or Microsoft / Linux certs).
Experience supporting DoD or other government-related IT environments.
Knowledge of NIST 800-171, DFARS, or CMMC compliance.
Familiarity with virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, VirtualBox).
Experience with ticketing systems and IT documentation platforms.
