Pit Master & Cook
Location : Blu’s Barbeque - Dallas, TX.
Blu’s Barbeque is looking for passionate, dependable team members to join our kitchen crew as Pit Masters and Cooks . Whether you’re a seasoned BBQ pro or just starting out, we’ll train you to master the Blu’s way - preparing perfectly smoked meats and scratch-made sides that meet our high standards for quality and flavor.
No prior pit experience is required - just a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a love for great food.
What You’ll Do :
- Prepare, season, and cook meats and menu items using various techniques, following Blu’s recipes and procedures.
- Assist in prepping ingredients and assembling dishes for service.
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation to ensure consistency.
- Store food properly at safe temperatures to prevent waste or spoilage.
- Keep smokers, prep stations, and kitchen areas clean and organized.
- Sanitize utensils, tools, and equipment before and after use.
- Track inventory and communicate when supplies need to be restocked.
- Support fellow team members to ensure smooth, efficient service.
- Follow all health, food safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
What We’re Looking For :
High school diploma or equivalent.Reliable transportation to and from work.Basic cooking knowledge or experience in a commercial kitchen (training provided).Ability to follow recipes and direction accurately.Team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills.Physically able to stand for extended periods and work around heat.ServSafe or similar food safety certification is a plus.
