As a Quantitative Analytics Model Development Analyst Sr. in the Balance Sheet Analytics & Modeling Group you will be located in downtown Washington, DC or Tyson’s Corner, Virginia.
This position will be responsible for providing statistical analysis and econometric modeling primarily for consumer loan portfolios.
Day to day activities will consist of performing quality assurance of statistical models used for regulatory and financial reporting (CECL, CCAR).

In addition, the Analyst will be responsible for some elements of project management including meeting coordination and presentations, documentation and issue tracking.
Position Requirements :
- Minimum, BS Degree in economics, business, or STEAM field with coursework in statistics. Masters and or PhD is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience with statistics, model development, model monitoring and / or applied data analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of at least one statistical and programming language, ie (Python, R, SAS, Mathlab, etc.)
- Experience working with very large data sets and data visualization. (Eg. SQL, Hadoop, Tableau, etc.)
- Strong problem solving skills using applied analytics
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Project management and experience with MS SharePoint a plus.
- Self-starter and the ability to work independently
- FRM, CFA or PRM designations are desirable
- Background in financial regulations (Basel, CCAR / DFAST and CECL) a plus.

Job Description
Independently performs advanced quantitative analyses and model development to drive decision-making by running quantitative strategies.
Makes recommendations based on analyses.
Analyzes and develops new model frameworks by supporting the line of business. Refines, monitors, and reviews existing models.
Conducts on-going communication with model owners and model developers during the course of the review. Works with larger, more complex datasets to create models.
Performs quantitative analysis and develops complex reports. Performs qualitative and quantitative assessments of all aspects of models including theoretical aspects, model design and implementation as well as data quality and integrity.
Analyzes complex data and associated quantitative analysis. Makes recommendations based on findings from data analytics.
- Uses quantitative tools and techniques to measure and analyze model risks and reaches conclusions on strengths and limitations of the model.
- Prepares and analyzes detailed documents for validation and regulatory compliance, using applicable templates.

Work Experience
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
