Grounds Maintenance II

The Grounds Maintenance Worker II plays a crucial role in maintaining the pristine appearance of Paradise Valley Country Club.

This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including lawn maintenance, landscaping, equipment operation, and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the club's exterior spaces.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support PVCC Vision, Mission, and Goals.
• Maintain the lawns by mowing, edging, raking leaves, and performing other lawn maintenance functions.
• Operate and inspect landscaping equipment.
• Maintain flower beds and pots by watering, removing weeds, pruning, and other maintenance tasks.
• Clean and maintain the parking lot and sidewalks, removing trash, oil stains, gum, and food stains.
• Safely and properly operate equipment as assigned and trained to maintain the landscape surrounding the club.
• Support irrigation maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure that the grounds are clean and free of debris.
• Assist with special projects and assignments as directed.
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
• Report defective equipment, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.

Requirements

Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• One to three years of general landscape maintenance experience.
• Valid AZ Class D Driver's License.
• Ability to pass background and reference checks as stipulated by company standards.
• Proficient in manual labor tasks such as digging, raking, sweeping, and planting.
• Skilled in equipment operation, including mowers, utility vehicles, and tractors.
• Skilled in power tool operation, including chainsaw, polesaw, stump grinder, auger, jackhammer, and hedge trimmer.
• Knowledge of proper pruning techniques and tree trimming, including crown thinning and lifting.
• Non-allergic to grasses, trees, plants, and common fertilizers.
• Good attitude, strong work ethic, reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands :

• Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions with environmental noise.
• Moving about on foot with minimal rest.
• Raising or lowering objects weighing 35-100 lbs.
• Occasionally ascending or descending ladders using feet and legs or hands and arms.
• Frequently utilizes a 10-pound backpack.
• Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves away from or towards the force.
• Frequently required to position the body to perform maintenance duties.
• Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling.
• Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands.
• Clarity of vision at various ranges up to 20 feet.
• Exposure to environmental conditions, including weather, moving mechanical parts, electric shock, vibration, extreme heat, noise, and toxic chemicals.

Salary Description

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour - DOE
