SUMMARY :
This is a full-time / seasonal position working in the human resources department. Duties include but are not limited to processing new hire applications, review, maintain and audit I-9’s .
Additional duties may include assistance with other areas in human resources department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assist department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees.
- Process New Hire applications, termination forms and / or disciplinary forms while ensuring complete and accurate.
- Translates personnel related documents and information as directed from English to Spanish.
- Provide liaison services for employees and management.
- Perform various administrative tasks and complete special assignments and projects as required.
- Receive all incoming paperwork from outside field supervisors & foreman.
- Handle checks daily.
- Hand out checks to employees with proper identification.
- Update Daily Crew Count daily send in timely manner.
- Keep organized and updated check signature sheets for every pay period.
- Assist all employees and field men with questions or concerns.
- Answer high volume of phone calls and direct to correct department.
- Complete all employment verifications and return in timely manner.
- Maintain in private and in confidential manner all paperwork coming in from field.
- Sort and direct all incoming mail and faxes.
- Make orders for all needed office supplies and field books.
- Be able to multitask.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have excellent communication skills, positive attitude, be able to work independently with excellent attention to detail a must.
Knowledge of office methods, practices and equipment; knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing; initiative to develop new procedures to make office work flow processes more efficient;
computer literate in Microsoft Office, i.e. Word, Excel;10-key by touch; ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Must be proficient in excel and office administration systems. Agricultural experience preferred, that would provide the level of knowledge and ability required for the position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Proficiency in English and Spanish required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Sitting for prolonged period of time.
- Light to moderate lifting (up to 40 pounds).
- Reaching, stooping, pulling, pushing and manual dexterity.
- Operating a computer, calculator, copier and typewriter involves repetitive hand arm movement.
- Entering data by touch requires the ability to hear computer alarms for errors.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to handle multi-tasks and work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Must be able to deal politely with outside customers and vendors,
Communication with other staff members involves making contact orally, via the telephone or in person.
