Building Maintenance

The Sunray Companies is seeking a self starter with building maintenance repair experience and also handle deep cleaning / carpet cleaning, inventory, moving furniture / equipment, and other similar responsibilities.

This is a full-time position with benefits and requires a flexible schedule week-to-week including late nights, weekends, and possible long hours.

The company provides any needed supplies and tools for the position including hand, power and specialty tools, maintenance and cleaning supplies, dollies, ladders, etc.

Our corporate office is located in Madison, MS. We own and operation locations throughout Mississippi and Louisiana so travel is required.

Responsibilities :

• Perform general maintenance repair tasks correctly, safely and by due date. General maintenance may include but is not limited to repair of fixtures or outlets, adjusting of sensors and lighting, unclogging drains, repairing or replacing faucets or other minor plumbing components, repairing or replacing locks, replacing ceiling tiles, replacing filters, sheetrock repair, touch-up painting, install shelving and doors, simple carpentry or masonry repairs, assembly as needed, maintenance troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and similar tasks
• Complete all assigned maintenance service requests
• Deep carpet and tile cleaning on a quarterly basis as assigned
• Quarterly maintenance inspections as assigned
• Flipping, moving furniture, and deep cleaning of tenant spaces for move-out / move-in
• Regular cleaning and maintenance of physical condition of specific local properties as part of support staff
• Inventory and organization of warehouse
• Assist with management of online maintenance system
• Replace flooring, sheetrock, full painting, and similar
• Special projects or duties as assigned

The ideal candidate is positive, friendly and enthusiastic; thrives in a fast-paced environment with strict timelines, is well organized, and works well both individually as well as with other team members and tenants.

This position does frequently interact with others at properties so a professional demeanor and appearance are required.

Candidates must also have :

• At least 2 years of previous experience in building maintenance
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds without assistance
• Ability to use and be on a ladder in excess of 8 feet
• Ability to move through properties, access ceilings and roofs, and similar
• Proficient in use of general maintenance equipment including but not limited to hand tools, power tools, ladders, paint equipment, and similar
• Ability to stand for a continuous lengthy period of time
• Time management skills
• Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Team player mindset
• Valid Driver's License and ability to drive and travel / stay for extended periods.
• Previous experience in event setup and takedown is preferred.
