Purpose :

  • Emerge Treatment is a comprehensive and holistic day treatment facility designed to address the mental health needs of young women between the ages of 18 and 30. With a focus on the well-being of the whole person, Emerge offers a 60 to 90-day program that provides individual counseling, group therapy, skill-building, and physical-health based approaches.

  • An hourly rate starts at $19 an hour
  • 401K plan eligibility after 3 months of employment for full time staff.

  • Qualifications

    Educational Background :

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or preferably a related field.
  • Relevant Training and Certifications :

  • CPR and First Aid Certification : Basic life-saving skills are essential, especially if the facility deals with crisis situations.(Preferred, but we will provide)
  • Crisis Intervention Training : Knowledge of how to handle individuals in crisis or those with aggressive behaviors.(Preferred, but we will provide)
  • Mental Health First Aid : Training in recognizing and responding to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. (Preferred, but we will provide.
  • Experience :

  • Preferred Experience : Previous work or volunteer experience in mental health facilities, hospitals, or related settings is highly valuable.
  • Skills and Abilities :

  • Communication Skills : Ability to effectively communicate with clients, their families, and other staff members.
  • Empathy and Compassion : Essential for understanding the needs and concerns of individuals struggling with mental health issues.
  • Problem-Solving : Capacity to think on their feet and find solutions to challenges faced by clients.
  • Patience : Working with individuals with mental health issues can require patience and understanding.
  • Legal and Ethical Understanding :

  • Confidentiality : Understanding the importance of client confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Regulations : Familiarity with relevant mental health laws and regulations governing the facility's operations.
  • Physical and Emotional Health :

  • Stamina : Mental health facilities can be demanding; staff may need to be on their feet for long hours and be able to handle the physical demands of the job.
  • Emotional Resilience : Ability to cope with the emotional challenges that may arise when working with individuals facing severe mental health issues.
  • Teamwork :

  • Collaboration : Ability to work effectively in a team, often alongside mental health professionals, nurses, and administrative staff.
  • Continuing Education :

  • Willingness to Learn : The field of mental health is constantly evolving. Staff should be open to learning new techniques and approaches through workshops, seminars, and additional training.
  • Responsibilities :

  • This position provides direct patient care by developing rapport with the patients and facilitating the therapeutic milieu
  • Shift Details : Starting out 6 hours a day 5 days a week. As we gain clientele, that will shift to possibly 8 hours.
  • Assists patients with daily living tasks, providing emotional support to patients and families
  • Conducts skills-based groups
  • May assist in community meetings, interfacing with family, and lead diversionary activities
  • May implement recreational activities and may act as aide for patient educational needs
  • Assists, performs, and accurately documents delegated patient care procedures, treatments, observations, groups / education, etc. in designated areas, legibly and in a timely manner
  • Orients patients to the program and assist in the Admissions process
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal relations and communication skills with co-workers, patients, families, and other personnel involved with patient care
  • Reports changes in the patient's condition to the applicable clinical staff
  • Maintains a safe, consistent and supportive environment by providing care in accordance with the multidisciplinary treatment plan using established behavioral interventions and programs to meet patient care needs
  • Ensures that assigned areas are clean, straight and in compliance with fire and safety hazards before leaving at the end of each shift
  • Maintains constant surveillance of assigned areas to ensure patient safety including visual patient checks, room checks and unit checks
  • May stock supplies and carry out general housekeeping tasks as assigned
  • The pay range for this role is :

    19 - 19 USD per hour(Emerge Treatment)
