Description :

The Progressive Care Unit has 44 beds.

There are 95 staff members on the unit.

Staff consists of Charge Nurses, RNs, CNAs, and Health Unit Coordinators.

Patient ratios are typically 4 : 1 at grid and may stretch to 5 : 1.

The equipment used includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and patient lifts.

Electronic Medical Record system is Cerner.

Typical procedures performed include neuro and spinal checks, C-Collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tube insertion, PCA pump management, IV infusions, lumbar drain placement, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions.

The ideal candidate is a team player and patient-focused.

Floating may occur to stepdown units and med-surg units.

Dress code requires navy blue scrubs.

The unit operates on a schedule that includes every other weekend.
