We are currently looking to fill the following position :
Field Test Engineer
Description :
As a Field Test Engineer :
- You will be in charge of testing the functionality of our portable wireless base station products.
- You will work with multiple wireless technology standards such as 5G / NR, LTE, UMTS, and GSM
- You will help Octasic to constantly assess the quality and performance of our systems.
- You will be maintaining the lab and operations at the facility.
- You will be responsible for the maintenance, operation and demonstration of prototype / R&D demonstration systems.
- You will be required to support meetings and demonstrations for U.S. Federal Government customers.
Your daily work will consist of executing a variety of tests (stationary or drive) designed to assess our quality and performance.
We will execute tests based on our Test Plans, as well as specific ad-hoc testing guided by our engineering team, and your wireless experience will contribute to identifying and troubleshooting abnormal situations.
Required skills :
- RF / Wireless 3GPP standards knowledge (CDMA is a plus)
- Good understanding of NAS, RRC, PHY for LTE, UMTS and 5G.
- Proper understanding of Radio Frequency fundamentals
- Hands on experience of Cell Selection and Mobility procedures Field Testing and validation.
- Wireless market knowledge and experience working with the networks of the major carriers in the US market (Networks and UE knowledge).
- Experience with Phone logging SW (TEMS Investigation, QXDM, Catcher, Shannon DM, or similar)
- Experience with S&R CSS equipment is a plus.
- Experience with RF Equipment (power amplifiers, power meters, antennas, etc.)
- Knowledge and practical understanding of Ethernet / IP networks and Windows and Linux configuration.
- Experience on Creation and Execution of Test Plans (able to execute tests following specified test steps and protocols)
- Good level of scripting knowledge (Python, bash)
- Friendly and easygoing attitude, with problem-solving skills.
- Must possess strong interpersonal, organization, and writing skills.
- Must be able to work independently as well as on different projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with applicable technology teams to determine testing parameters.
- Occasional travel may be required
