BILLING SPECIALIST

Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid)

$22-$24 per hour

Are you detail-oriented and looking to grow your career in billing and healthcare operations? We're seeking a Billing Specialist . This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate claim submissions, resolving billing discrepancies, and supporting patients with account inquiries.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE :

Process and submit electronic and paper claims accurately and on time

Review claims for proper coding, documentation, and compliance with payer requirements

Follow up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims to secure reimbursement

Generate patient statements and respond to billing inquiries

Work with insurance carriers, providers, and patients to resolve billing issues

Assist with account reconciliations and reporting

Support additional administrative and patient access functions as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree a plus

Prior billing experience in medical or dental setting strongly preferred

Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and payer guidelines a plus

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
