Intern, Accounting / Finance

This 6-month Accounting / Finance Internship provides exposure to the inner workings of finance and accounting, equipping you with the technical and supporting skills to succeed grow in your career.
This internship supports the Finance team to strengthen the organization's financial integrity, business processes, and system of internal controls by working on financial projects and providing accounting support, insight, and recommendations.
Key Learning Goals :
- Expand Accounting Fundamentals - Learn the monthly and annual accounting cycle by completing account reconciliations and supporting schedules, accounting entries, and financial reports to develop core accounting skills
- Continuous Improvement - Engage in process improvement initiatives, including software implementations, internal audits, policy / procedure documentation, and internal control assessments. Learn from experienced professionals how to make a difference and get noticed.
- Build Critical Skills - Being a finance whiz takes more than crunching numbers. Goals will be developed to help you sharpen the soft skills crucial for success, like project management, collaboration, and business communications.

Students who are currently enrolled and have completed one year of their post-secondary program, are enrolled in a graduate program, or have earned a degree in the last 18 months.Must be able to work either 24 or 40 hours per week (Monday Friday) for the duration of this internshipMust be able to work in the office (St. Paul, MN) at least 2 days per weekInterest in pursuing a career in accounting / finance or admission into a graduate business programCompleted introductory coursework in finance or accounting (e.g., financial accounting, audit, information systems)Familiar with and willing to learn fundamental accounting, internal control, and auditing conceptsStrong critical thinking and analytical abilitiesEffective problem solver requires strong coordination and communication skillsObjective and curiousInterest in financial systems and creating efficiencyProficient Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, and OutlookPreferred Qualifications :
