This position provides assistive care to patients. The incumbent facilitates the efficient delivery of patient care, supports the professional role of the licensed staff, and provides support and assistance as directed by licensed staff in rendering basic healthcare to the patient. This position also assists with clerical functions as a multi-skilled auxiliary worker. This position provides direct patient care and may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law.
Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures, reporting patient concerns, performing lab tests, acting as a chaperone, monitoring patient examination rooms, answering telephones, assisting in routine clerical functions, attending mandatory education, and performing other duties based on department assigned.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include performing essential functions, demonstrated phlebotomy skills, human relation and communication skills, proficiency in the specific clinic's specialty skills, and the ability to withstand physical demands.
Qualifications include current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential, one of the following certifications, and the ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.
Working conditions and physical demands involve lifting, moving, and handling patients and equipment, exposure to infectious diseases, and potential exposure to dangerous contaminants.
