Director of Acute Quality
The Director of Acute Quality is responsible for system-wide acute care quality assurance, improvement, and integration throughout the organization and will report directly to the Vice President of Clinical Programs.
The Director provides system subject matter expertise and collaborates with the directors of Safety, Infection Prevention, Clinical Programs, and others on quality improvement efforts.
This leader directs activities related to acute care / hospital-based quality management and aggregation and analysis of performance improvement data.

The Director of Acute Quality responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Directs the development and application of clinical, quality, safety and infection control guidelines and procedures.
- Develops and directs the clinical quality training curriculum and education programs.
- Supports other shared services and Clinical Programs in EHR workflow optimization.
- Oversees the clinical requirements necessary to maximize payor financial incentive programs through the achievement of quality metrics and applicable quality standards.
- Defines processes to promote evidence-based medicine, report on quality and coordinate care for patient-centered care delivery.
- Guides development of performance measurement metrics to ensure achievement of clinical performance standards.
- Develops quality of care standards and performs monitoring and reporting of adherence.
- Partners with the care coordination program to facilitate the provision of comprehensive health promotion and chronic disease management.
- Coordinates and organizes Quality Committees at the system and hospital levels.
- Collaborates with leadership team to address quality and safety deficits.
- Assists with organizational strategic initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
- Cultivates and maintains professional relationships with primary customers including operational, clinical and physician leaders, physicians, caregivers, patients, vendors, and external entities to foster opportunities for improvement in quality metrics, enhanced patient experience and to positively impact core clinical measures.
- Completes employee performance appraisals, coaches, and develops staff and addresses performance concerns.
- Develops and manages budget and ensures fiscal accountability and achievement of financial goals and results.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a healthcare related field.
- Preferred Master’s degree in nursing or a healthcare related field.
- Preferred Minimum of five (5) years of progressive management responsibility in an acute care setting two (2) of which are related to managing an organization’s Quality Improvement Program.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical patient care experience.
- Experience developing and implementing clinical quality and / or process improvement initiatives.
Certifications and licensure :
- Preferred Certification in healthcare quality.
- Preferred Certification, knowledge, or expertise with performance improvement / CQI methodologies (., Continuous Improvement, Lean Six Sigma).
- Preferred Current knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements for acute care services.
