Job Highlights :

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures that best practices and initiatives are reviewed and implemented. Identifies system wide opportunities for improvements, and ensures action plans are completed timely and implemented.

Maintains working knowledge of various committee operations to assess and ensure essential requirements are met and best practices are identified and shared.

Leads identified clinical quality improvement initiatives, providing assessment of opportunities for improvement and identifying strategies to achieve strategic goals.

Completes and maintains strong knowledge of quality principles, tools and techniques. Leads or participates in system, regional and entity meetings as assigned.

Leads and facilitates system-wide quality initiatives and committees, and promotes system wide aligned reporting through coordination and alignment of work and strategies.

Directs and oversees progress of system wide quality management program activities and resources. Develops and implements strategies, systems, policies and procedures to assess and improve quality across the continuum, for all populations served by the organization.

Works closely with senior leaders and leaders to assess needs, plan and communicate activities and support.

  • Collaborates and participates in oversight of adherence to regulatory standards for quality improvement. Acts as an organizational expert for quality improvement and is responsible for alignment and integration of various functional areas under the quality program.
  • Analyzes patient care information from data sources. Identifies real or potential concerns and oversees development of recommendations to correct or prevent concerns.

Develops succinct and comprehensive reports detailing quality improvement activities, including periodic reporting of organizational performance data.

  • Enhances the organization's and the larger healthcare community's knowledge of quality improvement and safety best practices through literature review, interaction with internal and external resources, and knowledge of evolving relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Serves as an expert advisor for quality initiatives, including publicly reported clinical outcomes, supporting the associated data collection, submission and preparation activities, and drives shared learnings and networking across the system.
  • Aligns quality processes and metrics across assigned entities based on best practice. Aligns functions and processes to focus on supporting the patient safety, quality, and peer review goals of the system, region and ministry.

Reports and escalates issues to system, regional and ministry leadership in a timely fashion.

Communicates timely, educates and trains the leadership, staff and physicians as to the quality and patient safety program and their respective responsibilities in carrying out the program.

Advises departments on designing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, policies and protocols within their own departments.

  • Recognizes individual and team accomplishments.
  • Is visible and travels across assigned region to support and advance the organization's performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in health care related field

Seven years' experience, with five years' in leadership
