Job description

Accounting And Planning Preparation Specialist

This role focuses on accounting and planning preparation, ensuring compliance with financial standards, and supporting various accounting processes. This role will actively participate in project improvements and relationship management while providing guidance to team members.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, FCA, and internal accounting standards.
  • Verify, determine codes, and key data for invoices.
  • Perform duties related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
  • Reconcile cash clearing accounts and ensure they remain within thresholds.
  • Maintain the Board of Directors master file, including payments and reconciliation of activity, and manage reportable income tax documents.
  • Assist team members with balancing systems and cash-related processes.
  • Research and escalate issues to achieve resolutions.
  • Monitor and reconcile assigned accounts on a daily, weekly, and / or monthly basis.
  • Identify, research, and resolve reconciling items, escalating when necessary.
  • Contact clients or other departments to gather information to resolve issues.
  • Provide guidance on cash account reconciliation.
  • Resolve issues with clients and follow up on outstanding issues.
  • Participate in training for team members and processes.
  • Coordinate and monitor close cycle processing for accounts payable and fixed assets.
  • Participate in project teams and execute test plans.
  • Maintain and update documentation on assigned procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between Accounting and the Board of Directors.
  • Respond to client requests and resolve questions and concerns.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of overall accounting experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a large company with $200 million+ in revenue.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of advanced Excel experience, including pivot tables, V-lookups, and macros.
  • Experience in general ledger, month-end, quarter-end reporting, 1099, and internal controls.
  • Work Environment

    The work environment is located in a beautiful building in Downtown St. Paul, with modern and comfortable workspaces. Employees have the flexibility to work in the office two days per week and can choose which days they prefer. Paid parking is provided.

    Pay And Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.27 / hr.
