Overview

Nazdar is a family-owned, mid-sized company with over 100 years of history, headquartered in Shawnee, Kansas. Our IT team is small but mighty, and this role offers the opportunity to impact a wide range of technologies and initiatives in a collaborative, hands-on environment. The System Administrator and Network Specialist will be responsible for protecting our critical systems and assets, building solutions, implementing new software and hardware, and assisting in developing the overall IT strategy. This is a Hybrid role, reporting to our headquarters in Shawnee, KS.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, and networking equipment.
  • Monitor data center health using existing management tools and respond to issues as they arrive. Help build, test, and maintain new servers as required.
  • Improve systems and procedures by adopting new technology and automating as appropriate.
  • Document IT infrastructure.
  • Perform routine maintenance and audits of the enterprise backup systems.
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve internal customer issues.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Proven success in a related IT role.
  • Capable of bringing in new solutions and implementing them.
  • 5+ years of network administration and support including SD-WAN, data center networking, switches / routers / firewalls.
  • Experience managing VMware vSphere environment, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
  • Microsoft Active Directory and Entra experience required.
  • Experience with enterprise backup systems. Veeam preferred.
  • Okta Identity Management experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science.
