About this role :

The commercial contract manager will play a pivotal role as a member of a fast-paced business that balances business and risk considerations with sales efforts.

Provides review and negotiation of complex commercial contracts related to sales of digital and connected climate and energy solutions and products.

Represents Carrier to customers, subcontractors, competitors, and government agencies. Provides resolution of commercial contract issues by identifying solutions and recommending a course of action.

Handles international or domestic contract activity with moderate to high risk to Carrier business segments per standard contracting principles, Carrier policies and procedures, and applicable US Federal Government rules and regulations.

The candidate must have knowledge of commercial contracting concepts and the ability to draft contractual documents, excellent analytical and communication skills, and business knowledge necessary to develop contracting solutions that protect Carrier's interests.

The candidate must work independently and exercise sound business and legal judgment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Review, revise, and assist with the completion of bid proposals.
• Review and negotiate sales, service, and distribution contracts for wide variety of intelligent digital solutions.
• Prepare correspondence and contract summaries, negotiate memoranda, and other contract documentation to ensure timely and coordinated execution of contracts.
• Negotiates directly with customers, reviews, and prepares responses for proposals, bids, and contracts. Ensures that the contract terms and conditions comply with the appropriate corporate policies.
• Provides support, advice, and training to personnel in local offices on commercial and other contract compliance issues and Carrier’s policies regarding commercial contracts.
• Communicates contract policy and best practices to internal business teams.
• Process sales and service contracts in Carrier Contract Lifecycle Management tool.
• Develop and conduct training for field and sales representatives.
• Develop standard work and standard processes for sales contract review and approval.
• Typically viewed as subject-matter expert within discipline.
• Has advanced to expert knowledge of work area.
• Problems faced are difficult and often complex.
• Participate in departmental projects, particularly those relating to contract process and improvement.
• Travel to local offices to provide support, advice and training directly with the sales representatives on a periodic basis.

Required Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5 + years of experience in international and / or domestic commercial contract negotiation and drafting experience.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Juris doctorate preferred
• Working knowledge of software licensing concepts relating to sale / license of digital products and service preferred.
• Working knowledge of insurance concepts related to commercial contracts preferred.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound legal and business judgment.
• Ability to process large volumes of contracts and related documents in a cautioned manner under tight deadlines and under sales pressures.
