Assist clients in maintaining safe and healthy lifestyles, and monitor for changes in their general health, appearance, behavior, and patterns of activities. Ensure timely reporting of an incident to immediate supervisor. Make sure each person’s personal appearance is presentable with daily grooming and adequate and comfortable seasonal clothing. Communicate with previous shift staff and preceding shift staff to alert staff of any changes or concerns, when applicable. Perform all duties according to the roster for each shift to include arriving to their shift at least 10 minutes prior to the start time. Develop service recipient’s basic living skills (e.g., social, domestic, and hygiene) through instruction and encouragement and in accordance with their health and individual plans. Perform or assist person with personal hygiene as needed (e.g., bathing, brushing teeth, shaving, nail clipping, dressing, bodily functions, and appearance) and document any changes in signs and symptoms. Perform or assist person in basic domestic duties as needed (e.g., cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, Maintain person’s schedule (e.g., doctor appointments, professional services appointments and work). Maintain a safe environment for the person; prevent harm to person, self, and others. Maintain current certification as required (e.g., CPR, First Aid, TME, CPI, etc.).
