Position Summary
The Manager, Business Analysis plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities related to the company's business analysis functions in order to achieve documented technical and business objectives. The role is primarily responsible, under limited supervision, for the leading Business Analysts and business analysis activities, including eliciting, analyzing, validating, specifying, verifying, and managing the real needs of project stakeholders. The Manager, Business Analysis serves as the conduit between the business and the Information Systems Software Development Team throughout the Project Management Life Cycle and Software Development Life Cycle.
Compensation
This role is an exempt position with a targeted salary range of $120,000 - $176,000 annually. Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant's geographical location.
Essential Functions
- Manage the business analysis function and champions ongoing process improvements to implement best practices for EPMO methodologies (Waterfall, Hybrid and Agile).
- Provide leadership, training, and direction to Business Analysis staff ensuring EPMO standards are achieved in such areas as discovery, requirements, estimating, planning target start / end dates, as well as continual coordination with scrum master / PM for prioritization and optimizing product team execution.
- Leverage organizational resources to improve capacity for project work.
- Provide leadership to product / project teams and collaborates with business stakeholders to develop strategies and solutions that will create high business value to ensure delivery of desired outcomes and realization of the value expected.
- Demonstrate a high commitment to quality, customer service, and feedback loops to ensure exceptional business value to users.
- Act as Business Analyst Lead for Product Team(s) and develops Business Analysts into this role.
- Use best practices to train and mentor the Business Analysis Team to elicit project requirements using interviews, user shadowing, document analysis, viewpoints, gap analysis, etc.
- Promote and enhance effective requirements documentation practices, including user stories / acceptance criteria.
- Assist with the development of the organization's requirements engineering policies, procedures, KPI's and tools, and ensure alignment to IT best practices.
- Work with Quality Assurance (QA) to establish and implement effective testing strategies and develop testing plans as appropriate for larger or complex projects together with BA's, QA, and Business.
- Ensure EPMO process adherence by participating in various periodic EPMO governance meetings, including Monthly Project Reviews.
- Promote standardized processes, methods, templates, reporting, etc., across all projects and change requests.
- Ensure system and user administration of EPMO software tools (Workfront / Atlassian / Sharepoint) are done timely and accurately.
- Responsible for tracking performance of direct reports, approving time off requests, and delivering performance reviews.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree directly related to the position or equivalent, required.Minimum six years' experience programming / system analysis business process or project management required.Minimum two years supervisory or leadership experience.Relevant experience in mortgage lending and / or consumer lending technology; Experience in mortgage operations segment is highly preferred.Experience leading / working with teams in agile setting, managing backlog / release plan, writing and collaborating on epics and user stories strongly preferred.Experience working in Finance or Mortgage Banking related role(s) preferred.Analytical skills and a demonstrated talent for scrutinizing complex work processes and streamlining them for increased output; ability to abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding.Modeling skills necessary to represent requirements information in graphical forms.Strong proficiency understanding of how to practice requirements engineering according to several software development life cycles in a team environment (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, DevOps).Excellent verbal and written communication required; able to effectively manage communication with multiple stakeholders; Persuasive, encouraging and motivating.Demonstrated ability to interview subjects, facilitate group discussions, gather information, and report on results.Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Wiki, Google docs, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications required.Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Promotes empowerment of the team and ensures that each team member and key stakeholder is fully engaged and adding value and making a meaningful contribution.Encourages team development while holding team members accountable for their commitments.Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment required.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications required.Commitment to company values.Customer Service - Proactive attention to each personIntegrity - Do and say what's rightRespect - Treat others with dignityCollaboration - Listen and work togetherLearning - Seek knowledge and strive for improvementExcellence Deliver the unexpectedSupervision
