Order Entry Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

Perform all functions related to the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions accurate and timely input of physician orders into the pharmacy computer system.

 Access, input, update patient’s profile and retrieve information on the pharmacy computer system including medications, allergies, and all ancillary orders

 Maintain and process medical records

 Answer phone and customer service using effective communication skills

 Verify that physician orders are accurate and complete

 Clarify with facility nurses and obtain any missing information from nurses as needed

 Input new orders and refill requests based upon priority and delivery schedule

 Assist with pharmacy workflow

 Process prescriptions to appropriate third parties for payment

 Participate in development of training other staff as necessary

 All other duties as assigned
