We are looking for an associate level Mechanical Engineer (ME) to build their skills within our team, supporting production of the US Navy’s major and medium caliber gun weapon systems.

This is an exciting and dynamic job where you’ll not only work on important projects, but help advance the US Navy’s global dominance of the seas.

You will be supporting the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business at our Louisville, KY facility. This position will report onsite on a 9 / 80 schedule (every other Friday off).

As a Mechanical Engineer with BAE Systems you will :

  • Work with production personnel helping them troubleshoot and test Naval Weapons Systems
  • Aid in drawing interpretations
  • Investigate changes and process updates and revisions to drawings
  • Perform basic engineering design, analysis, experimentation, test and / or product assurance tasks of limited complexity for assigned portions of a project, ensuring tasks meet cost, quality, schedule, and performance requirements.
  • Provide engineering support to disposition nonconforming material.
  • Provide engineering support to other departments (procurement, manufacturing, configuration management, etc.)
  • Develop and write technical documentation, make revisions to existing documentation, and provide input to technical papers or presentations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems and implement solutions of limited complexity.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering degree

Minimum of 2 years work experience in a production support environment

Required Skills :

  • Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a relevant technical field of specialization.
  • Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to solve technical design and development problems.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings that contain GD&T.
  • The ability to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot mechanical problems.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards.
  • Experience with 3D CAD systems, specifically CREO Parametric.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range : $68700 - $116800

Please note : This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to : business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
