OVERVIEW
The Resettlement Coordinator will work on the Resettlement team in the Dearborn field office and ensure program goals, case management, standards of care, and reporting requirements are satisfied through oversight of daily operations.
The Resettlement Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the Field Office Director.
USCRI has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine policy. All employees must be fully vaccinated to work at any / all locations at USCRI.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate daily operations of the Resettlement team and the delivery of core resettlement services for newly arriving refugee families and individuals;
- Oversee case assignments and maintain accurate records on all pre-arrivals documents and databases;
- Monitor client progress and success, and perform quality assurance review of all case files, to ensure program compliance and that designated resources are being maximized efficiently;
- Plan and track direct assistance expenditures on each new arrival case assigned to the team and ensure adherence to budgetary and contract compliance requirements;
- Coordinate with internal colleagues and external organizations, as needed, to provide core services and ensure smooth transitions to other programs, e.
g. volunteer coordination, health services, employment services, ESL classes, etc.
- Ensure compliance with all resettlement program standards and grant requirements through regular internal monitoring;
- Report regularly to the Field Office Director on case progress, issues, and concerns;
- Troubleshoot problems, and manage to resolution; and
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with at least two years’ of experience in the field of refugee resettlement;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to organize, prioritize and work independently, as well as in collaboration with others, is required;
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills;
- Covid-19 vaccination card mandatory;
- Creative problem-solver;
- Ability to work as a team member and independently, with a high level of self-motivation and ability to meet goals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and database programs; and
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission of USCRI and interest in growing in a nonprofit long-term.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Satisfactory Completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training; and
- Complete additional training and job duties as identified by supervisor(s), program director or Human Resources
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
