About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum 2 years in Labor and Delivery

License : Must hold a valid nursing license

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP required; AWOHNN preferred

Must-Have :

• 2 years of overall nursing experience
• Experience in hospitals with over 100 deliveries per month

Description :

The unit has 16 beds for labor and delivery.

There are 6 antepartum rooms and 5 triage rooms available.

Two operating rooms are on-site.

The nurse-to-patient ratios are approximately 1 : 2-3.

This is a very busy unit.

The facility is designated as a level 4 maternity center.

The unit takes admissions from the entire service area.

Nurses will manage routine labors, inductions, and low-intervention deliveries.

They will also handle preterm premature rupture of membranes, cerclage placement and removal, and fetal demises.

The unit cares for patients with insulin drips, heparin drips, placenta accreta, and placenta previa.

Registered Nurses will support patients with decreased fetal movement, fetal growth restriction, pre-eclampsia, substance use disorder, and unstable antepartum conditions.

D&C procedures are part of the nursing responsibilities in this unit.

There is a supervisor available 24 / 7 as a resource for the service line.

Floating to pediatric, PICU, NICU, and maternal newborn units may be required.

Nurses must be willing to float to different units as needed.

The position requires strong critical thinking and clinical skills.

Nurses should possess effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is also necessary.
