Utah Valley University is seeking a talented and innovative Assistant – Creative Video Team Lead to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of video shooters and editors, capturing, producing, and delivering high-quality, engaging content for in-venue displays and social media platforms. - Lead and Manage Team : Oversee and mentor a team of creative video shooters / editors, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality content production and professional growth. Assist in planning and storyboarding video content to ensure a consistent and engaging narrative across all platforms. Work closely with the social media, marketing, and creative teams to develop content that supports overall brand and marketing strategies.
- Conduct Video Shoots with Student-Athletes : Film student-athletes, capturing footage to be used for both in-venue content and social media platforms. Edit raw footage into polished videos, including highlights, recaps, and promotional content, using industry-standard software.
- Create In-Venue Video Content : Develop and manage video content specifically for in-venue displays, including jumbotron videos, player introductions, highlight reels, and promotional content to enhance the live fan experience for assigned sports.
- Shoot / Edit Games for Social Media : Capture and edit game footage to create engaging and dynamic content tailored for social media platforms such as Instagram, X Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. Keep up with the latest trends in social media and video production to continuously improve content quality and engagement. This content will serve to :
Advertise for Games and Drive Ticket Sales : Promote upcoming games and events, encouraging fans to purchase tickets and attend.
Build Brand Awareness and Affinity : Enhance the team’s brand, fostering a strong connection and loyalty among fans.Highlight Team Success and Wins : Showcase the team’s achievements and victories through game recaps and highlight reels.Shoot / Edit Special Departmental Projects : Work on special projects as assigned, ensuring high-quality video production that aligns with the department’s goals and objectives.Catalog Footage : Manage and ensure all footage from all Creative Video Team members is cataloged properly and efficiently, maintaining an organized and accessible video library.Equipment Management : Ensure all video equipment is well-maintained, accounted for, and ready for use, overseeing regular checks and maintenance.Perform Other Marketing-Related Duties : Assist with other marketing-related tasks as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the marketing team and the Athletics department.Two years of experience related to the summary of duties. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as required by sports events.
Preferred Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.Social Media Savvy : Deep understanding of social media platforms and trends, particularly in the sports industry.Knowledge
Video Production : In-depth knowledge of video production processes, including shooting, editing, and post-production.Social Media Trends : Understanding of current social media trends and platform-specific requirements for video content.Sports Industry : Familiarity with the sports industry and the unique demands of sports video production.Skills
Technical Skills : Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Creative Cloud), and proficiency in video production equipment (cameras, lighting, audio, etc.).Creative Skills : Strong eye for composition, storytelling, and visual aesthetics. Ability to create engaging and dynamic content that resonates with sports fans.Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction.Time Management : Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.Judgement and Diplomacy : Skills in judgment and diplomacy required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience.Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring a creative team, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.Abilities
