Portfolio Director (Conventional) - The Dinerstein Companies - Houston, TX

The Dinerstein Companies (TDC) is hiring a Houston based Portfolio Director to directly oversee a portfolio of owner-managed student properties. This position reports to the Executive Vice President - TDC Management and will work closely with the Leadership Team to implement portfolio-wide initiatives and campaigns focused on making The Dinerstein Companies the country's premier management company. The Portfolio Director will be a leader within the TDC management company and contribute to company-wide initiatives in support of the continued success of TDC.

Core Responsibilities

The Portfolio Director will oversee conventional properties within The Dinerstein Companies' growing portfolio. This individual will work closely with the company's marketing, accounting, human resources, technology, and management services teams to ensure the successful operational and financial performance of the property.

• Supervise full-time on-site team members and provide on-going training of company policies and procedures
• Serve as the liaison between on-site teams and corporate support teams, including IT, HR, and Accounting
• Provide property marketing efforts in collaboration with the Marketing Department
• Identify opportunities for rent growth and ancillary income at operating properties
• Ensure team members are trained on new and revised TDC policies and procedures
• Assist in the rollout of new operational initiatives and portfolio-wide campaigns
• Provide leadership in delivering customer service and identifying opportunities for improvements in our service efforts
• Execute on plans to meet or exceed property budgets and strategic plans
• Travel to properties to oversee and lead the on-site teams

Leadership Team

As a member of the Property Management Leadership team, the Portfolio Director will attend quarterly Leadership Meetings and participate in operational projects in collaboration with other Leadership team members. These projects are aimed at ensuring The Dinerstein Companies remains the most innovative management company in the country.

Executive Involvement

Portfolio Directors are responsible for reporting on leasing and market efforts, financial performance, price adjustments, and the leasing efforts of our competitors in the market. This role involves regular communications with our external partners.
