About Etched
Etched is building AI chips that are hard-coded for individual model architectures. Our first product (Sohu) only supports transformers, but has an order of magnitude more throughput and lower latency than a B200. With Etched ASICs, you can build products that would be impossible with GPUs, like real-time video generation models and extremely deep & parallel chain-of-thought reasoning agents.
Job Summary
We're hiring our first Growth Lead - someone who will own how the world sees Etched. You'll tell the Etched story, sharpen our technical messaging, and make sure our product advantages are communicated clearly and consistently across every channel and market.
This is a high-ownership role where you'll work closely with the founders, GTM, and engineering teams to scale the Etched brand and achieve our customer growth goals. You'll own product messaging and positioning, launches and campaigns, and performance across all key growth metrics.

This isn't just about marketing - it's about making Etched a legendary brand. You'll drive everything outward-facing : our story, our launches, our presence online and in the real world. You'll shape perception, spark curiosity, and earn respect from the people who matter most : engineers, researchers, founders, customers, and deep tech insiders.
You'll work directly with our co-founder and COO - who led our fundraise and product launch for us recently - to craft everything from our narrative to our next breakout moment. You'll be surrounded by technical depth and high standards. Your job is to match that with taste, speed, and precision.

How we're different
Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson. We think most of the progress in the AI field has come from using more FLOPs to train and run models, and the best way to get more FLOPs is to build model-specific hardware. Larger and larger training runs encourage companies to consolidate around fewer model architectures, which creates a market for single-model ASICs.
We are a fully in-person team in San Jose (Santana Row), and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both as needed.
