Founding Recruiter San Francisco Onsite / Hybrid
You will be both an individual contributor and an architect of the recruiting function . Youll own full-cycle recruiting for technical & GTM roles manage agencies and sourcing platforms and partner closely with founders and investors to identify and close top talent.
Youll also build the systems brand positioning and playbooks needed to scale our hiring 4 by the end of next year from defining process to designing candidate experience. This is an opportunity to define the talent strategy of a company in one of the most exciting phases of growth.
Responsibilities
- Drive inclusive hiring practices ensuring diverse candidate pipelines and equitable processes.
- Partner with leadership on headcount planning org design and evolving business needs.
- Provide market intelligence compensation benchmarking competitive landscape and insights on how to position startups vs. big tech.
- Develop and manage sourcing channels direct sourcing agency partnerships investor networks and sourcing platforms
- Own end-to-end recruiting for technical & GTM roles across engineering product and design
- Develop and execute a scalable recruiting strategy that supports a 4 team expansion typically managing 812 open roles at once.
- Directly source and close top talent with a clear track record of delivering 1015 hires per year.
- Build and optimize the recruiting process from job descriptions and interview loops to candidate experience and time-to-fill metrics.
- Track and analyze recruiting performance defining and reporting KPIs such as source of hire conversion rates and time to fill.
- Champion employer branding and storytelling helping candidates understand the impact momentum and equity upside of joining a fast-moving startup.
- Eventually build and lead the recruiting team defining roles playbooks and culture for a world-class hiring function.
Requirements
Proven ability to source and close 1015 hires per year in competitive markets.Deep understanding of startup talent markets and what attracts candidates to early-stage opportunities.5-10 years of full-cycle recruiting experience in high-growth startups (Series AE) ideally in AI SaaS or deep tech.Comfortable being both strategic and hands-on you can design systems and run searches yourself.Must be skilled in market positioning and storytelling selling the mission team and growth trajectory over brand-name safety.Experience with recruiting tools like Ashby Greenhouse Gem HireEZ or similar ATS and sourcing platforms.Strong operational mindset : track metrics identify bottlenecks and continuously improve processes.Experience managing agency partnerships and contingent recruiters.Thrive in ambiguous fast-paced environments; scrappy and biased toward action.Bonus : Experience building or leading a recruiting function or stepping into a Head of Talent role.Competitive equity and benefits plus a culture that values autonomy ownership and speed.Key Skills
