We are looking for a Deputy Chief Data Officer to join our team and oversee our data operations and projects.

As an IT Manager III (Deputy CDO) you will :

• Lead a team of data experts and oversee all data operations and projects
• Develop and implement our statewide data governance strategy
• Develop Vermont's data architecture and engineering practice
• Enhance the State's next generation of data platform, developing a team to support the State's lakehouse-powered analytical environment
• Work with key decision makers and stakeholders to provide data services and solutions that meet their needs and goals
• Communicate and collaborate with data partners and teams
• Organize and conduct data meetings and trainings
• Perform other data-related duties as required

Environmental Factors

Most work is performed in a standard office setting and there is considerable interaction with high level managers and staff, as well as occasional work with other State agencies, interest groups, regional and / or national groups. Work outside of regular 7 : 45am - 4 : 30pm schedule can be anticipated.

Minimum Qualifications

Ten (10) years or more experience in computer sciences, business administration, public administration, mathematics, technical operations management or providing support to staff within an IT environment.

OR

Four (4) years or more in an IT Manager role with a combination of experience in computer operations, information technology management / administration or supervisory responsibilities.
