Summary of Position :

The Senior Structural Project Engineer supporting our Architecture and Engineering business unit, you will supervise a design team and manage structural engineering projects from conception to completion.

Projects will be located throughout the U.S. and will include : steel, concrete, pre-stressed concrete, timber and masonry.

As part of a multi-disciplined firm, you will be coordinating with Site / Civil Engineers, MEP Engineers, Architects and Construction Project Managers.

You will be responsible for the production of structural engineering construction documents while adhering to client requirements, code requirements and site adjustments.

You know how to organize and maintain project files as well as maintain documentation for billable hours. You've shown throughout your career that you can demonstrate an understanding of liability issues related to design and have a strong understanding of constructability and complex design.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage a team of Project Designers, support client interaction and coordinate with sub consultants.
  • Design full site plans autonomously or with little direction.
  • Conduct site visit investigations and generate reports and recommendations based on findings.
  • Prepare design calculations and reports.
  • Maintain phase and task level budgets.
  • Schedule project phases and tasks as well as create production schedules andprepare project plans.
  • Coordinate and assist with addendums, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Assist in coordinating the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of a project.

Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience with general building structural production, preferably with commercial projects such as retail or restaurants
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
  • P.E. required
  • AutoCAD and MS Office required; Revit, MathCAD, Enercalc & Risa 3D a plus

Team :

This role will report to the Director of Structural Engineering and work closely with a team of Designers and Engineers.

Work Location :

This role will be hybrid position based out of our Farmers Branch, TX office.
