Job description

Job Title : Catheterization Laboratory Technologist

Job Location : Santa Fe, NM

Job Duration : 2-3 Months (possibility of extension)

Shift : 7 : 00am - 5 : 30pm

Job Responsibilities :

  • Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures as requested by physicians.
  • Provides care for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist / Cardiologist.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from accredited radiologic technology program.

    • Certifications Required :

  • ARRT and New Mexico State licensure required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • Certification issued by ARRT applicable to cardiac or vascular intervention (CV, CI or VI), or RCIS Certification.

    • Knowledge and Skills :

  • Thorough knowledge of associated radiographic equipment, neurological and cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, medical terminology and basic computer skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of interventional procedures in Cardiology and Radiology preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.

    • Experience :

  • One year radiologic experience required.
  • One year interventional or cath lab experience preferred.

    • Reports To :

  • Responsible to : Manager, Cath Lab.

    • Work Environment :

  • Bloodborne pathogen - C.
  • Exposure to various body fluids and ionizing radiation.
  • Works in a clean, well-lighted, ventilated smoke-free environment.
  • Subject to stressful professional relationships.
  • Working hours are varied, with flexibility due to unexpected changes in schedule and emergencies.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Lifts, positions, pushes and / or transfers patients and equipment in excess of 50 lbs.
