Trigyn has a contract opportunity for SQL Server Migration DBA in Trenton, NJ. The particulars of the position are as follows.

Description

The department is looking for a SQL Server Migration DBA consultant with experience in SQL Server database administration, clustering, always on availability groups, server management, backup & restore of SQL Server databases with focus on database migration spanning multiple SQL Server versions, multiple state agencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the assessment and documentation of existing SQL Server environments.
• Support database migration efforts including backup / restore, scripting, data transfers, and validation.
• Perform routine health checks and troubleshooting during and after migrations.
• Collaborate with senior DBAs, infrastructure, and application teams.
• Execute test migrations and contribute to performance tuning and optimization.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and minimal application impact throughout the process.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and security compliance throughout the migration process.
• Maintain documentation and support incident resolution post-migration.
• Hands-on experience in SQL Server administration and support (versions 2012 through latest).
