Job Title : Senior Structural Design Engineer \n Location : Samlesbury We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role \n Salary : 47,683+ depending on skills and experience \n What youll be doing : \n Working closely with other engineering disciplines and functions, supplier and customer areas, fostering a team-working and collaborative product development environment \n Producing and issuing Airframe engineering design data to meet project requirements, in line with design standards, whilst maintaining quality, cost and schedule adherence \n Verifying design data prior to a formal independent check criteria to ensure compliance with project standards \n Identifying project technical risks and opportunities, and where appropriate propose mitigation plans \n Supporting all aspects of personal and professional development for yourself and, where appropriate, others in your team \n Evaluating and resolving design queries, and supporting the of resulting modifications and changes \n Supporting the definition and resource planning of design workload delivery \n Your skills and experiences : \n Essential \n Experience in an Airframe Design role, or equivalent near-neighbour disciplines \n Degree or HNC / HND or equivalent qualification \n Experience of operating in an airframe design role, or equivalent in one or more phases of the product lifecycle \n Proficiency in a CAD system, typically CATIA V5 or equivalent toolset, with experience in a PLM system \n Awareness of product lifecycle requirements and the importance of governance to product integrity \n Desirable \n Experience of working in a multidisciplinary integrated product development environment, influencing adjacent disciplines \n Experience of working with external customers, suppliers and partners \n Experience of managing Design tasks to meet engineering design requirements and programme requirements \n Experience in leading and guiding other Design staff \n Experience in holding a design check signature \n Benefits : \n As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. \n The team : \n As a Senior Structural Design Engineer you will be part of a team producing the physical product definition to satisfy a set of multidisciplinary system functional requirements, taking account of safety, cost, manufacturing, in-service support and other considerations. Your engineering capabilities will be developed across a range of design skills and product lifecycle stages, working both in a model-based (3D) and 2D Drawing engineering environment centred on Catia V5.
