Respiratory Care Practitioner - Respiratory Therapy WA SHMC Spokane Main Tower 10th FloorShift Details : Full-time, Day shift, 36 hours a week.

The Department-based Respiratory Therapist is expected to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary Respiratory Therapy principles.

He / She will collaborate with Physicians and Nurses in planning and implementing the patient plan of care. Completion of the department orientation program as well as unit-specific orientation, as required, is mandatory.

This individual assists the Physician with the delivery and direction of Respiratory Therapy. She / He may be qualified by training and experience to operate and maintain complex ventilatory support systems, monitoring and resuscitation devices, respiratory care procedures and patient assessments, diagnostic procedures and oxygen therapy.

Activities may also include other patient care functions for which he or she is qualified.Individualizes Respiratory care for Neonates (birth to 1 month), Infants (1 month to age 1), Toddlers (1-2 years), Preschoolers( 3-5 years), School Age Children (6-12 years), Adolescents (13-17 years), the Early Adult (18-35), Middles Adult (36-65), and Older Adult (66+) by applying age related concept, including knowledge of growth and development, safety needs, collection and interpretation of data, administering medications, performing diagnostic or other treatments / procedures and evaluation of care.
