Description :
Interventional Radiology Rad Tech must have experience in neurosurgery / neuroscience.
Shifts are typically 5-8 hours, with the possibility of negotiating up to 4-10 hour shifts.
There is no rotating shift schedule.
The role requires 2-3 call shifts per month, along with at least 1 holiday assignment.
Candidates with interventional radiology experience are preferred.
The unit generally trains radiologic technologists coming from other modalities for up to six months when starting in neuro IR.
Primary duties include demonstrating competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and producing radiologic images of diagnostic quality.
The candidate must work cooperatively with all team members to resolve problems expediently.
Flexibility, team spirit, compassion, and respect are essential when interacting with customers.
Awareness and sensitivity to patient rights are critical in all patient interactions.
The role involves administering oral contrast as needed per exam and instructing patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.
The candidate will assist the Radiologist during procedures.
Competence and proficiency in operating all x-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems are required.
Equipment malfunctions must be reported to the manager or lead.
All assigned procedures must be completed in a timely manner.
Utilizing time between procedures to assist others, perform clerical duties, and stock supplies is expected.
Maintaining medication security to authorized personnel only is essential.
Competency in providing healthcare services to all age groups is required.
Interpersonal relationship skills with all age groups must be demonstrated.
Competency in using Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), and PACS is necessary.
Participation in performance improvement activities is encouraged.
Confidentiality using personal passwords and patient care modules must be upheld.
The candidate should be able to answer technical inquiries from physicians or hospital personnel while maintaining good phone etiquette.
