Travel Nurse RN - Telemetry - COVID19 - $2,860 per week at Rapid City Hospital summary :

As a Travel Nurse RN in a telemetry and mixed acuity unit, I provide care for oncology and intermediate care patients, while monitoring vital signs and administering medications. With a minimum of one year of nursing experience, I manage patients receiving prolonged chemotherapy infusions and coordinate care within various adult inpatient units. I leverage my expertise with cardiac rhythms and advanced nursing protocols to ensure patient safety and effective healing during my assignments.

Certification Details

  • BLS
  • ACLS (Due to possible Intermediate Care level patients with tele and MedSurg)
  • NIHSS

Job Details

  • 16 inpatient beds
  • PCU / IMC RN needed – this is a mixed acuity unit meaning there will be Intermediate Care acuity as well as Tele and MedSurg – please ensure traveler understands and note this in offer
  • Oncology patients : surgical, new diagnosis, Oncology complications
  • Intermediate level of care with telemetry monitoring
  • Patients receiving prolonged chemotherapy infusions (multiple days)
  • TPE patients (based on staffing availability)

    • Job Requirements

  • Minimum experience : 1 year of general nursing experience
  • Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, if greater than 1 year of experience
  • 1st time traveler MUST have EPIC experience
  • Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
  • Comfortability to work with MedSurg assignments – decline if not agreeable
  • IMC / PCU level experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, titratable vasoactive drips, proficient in chest ports

    • Schedule Information

  • RN – 1 : 4, Days & Nights
  • Weekend rotation – Yes, every other
  • No call required
  • Available to work holiday during contract unless prior arrangements agreed upon; 2 / 4 major holidays
  • Able to approve 1.5 weeks off – must extend contract to accommodate a full 13-week contract

  • Any Adult Inpatient Unit - Med Surg, Ortho / Neuro / Surgical, Heart and Vascular Unit, Oncology, Observation
  • Could be floated within scope of practice and below
  • Will float in rotation with other travelers
  • Epic - Charting System
  • Alaris, Omnicell - Equipment

    • Additional Details

  • Scrub Color : Navy blue
  • Free Parking? Yes
  • Audits are done monthly for Pre / Post pain scoring-Must meet 90% compliance with audits.
  • No RTO will be considered during the first 3 weeks of August annually (Sturgis Bike Rally)
