License : State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the NLC required
Certifications : American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
NIHSS required.
ANCC; National Nursing Certification ANCC approved strongly preferred.
Must-Have : Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
Description :
Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team and the patient / family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
Promotes the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through the use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards and guidelines.
Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
Assesses the patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records, and clinical data.
Evaluates the patient's response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Develops and implements the patient plan of care and observes outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Demonstrates competency in a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic interventions including, but not limited to, IVs, incision / wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
Promotes, advocates, and collaborates to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
Provides patient / family education through assessment of patient / family learning readiness, needs, and ability.
Provides teaching and evaluates the effectiveness of teaching.
Recognizes the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patient's preferences, values, and needs.
Provides relationship-based care in which the nurse strives to understand what is most important to the individual and actively engages them in all aspects of care.
Delivers care with respect for cultural differences and the diversity of human experience.
Delegates to non-RN personnel in accordance with State Board of Nursing and hospital policy.
Effectively uses time, personnel, equipment, and supplies to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
Acts as a professional role model for all staff demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing processes.
Manages resources and patient flow through matching nursing competencies with individualized patient and unit needs.
Uses standards of care, hospital policies and procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.
Functions effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.
Precepts and mentors new staff or nursing students as needed.
Seeks out learning opportunities and continuing education.
Seeks experiences that reflect current practice to maintain skills and competence in clinical practice or role performance.
Maintains professional records that provide evidence of competency and lifelong learning.

This is a float position.
There is no home unit or facility.
Floating is centralized.
Float assignments may change on a schedule-by-schedule basis.
Floating may be required to any location within a specified distance of the original assignment location.
Float assignments may include duties outside original job requirements in accordance with policy.
